Hi, I have a big problem, recently I purchased a rebuilt built engine from a well trusted z mechanic, trust me the mechanic is well trusted, if not I would not have trusted it, I don't want to disclose who due to the fact that I understand this is a quite powerfull site, specially for z's. It cost me around 4500 dollars shipped, and to install another 3500 here in cali.
Anyways, the newly built engine has been installed and ran for around 6-7 thousand miles now properly.
compression number has always been low for cylinder 5 and 6, but the engine builder and the installer both told me that the rings may not have been sitted yet, keep driving for now. I just checked again, and cylinder 1-4 is at 150 psi, 5 and 6, 135 psi, that's 15 psi different in those two cylinders. It's been like that from the beginning. This issue has been bothering me for the longest time because I paid 9-10k for this job, and was not done right.
The builder offer to check my heads, but the installer won't pull the motor out for free.
To pull the motor out again would cost me another 3k dollars and to ship the motor and this and that would certainly be more.Any comment on what should I do?? please comment.
